Stitching during my holidays

I´ve been on holidays for the past 3 weeks and I will return to work later this week. I have been very active at the gym but not so at stitching.  But here are some updates.

I promised my daughter to finsih the O´Holy Night Calendar from Dimension before next Christmas. I have been working hard but all the stars are making me crazy. Now there are only 12 left! Can´t wait to have them all done!

Last weekend I had the urge to start something new and take a short break from the calendar. My choice was between Petal Fairy, Bliss Fairy or Topaz Fairy, all by Mirabilia. I finally decided on Topaz Fairy. It uses a lot of Kreinik which I don´t really like stitching with but the effect is so stunning. Here is what I´ve finished so far. It´s not  much since the Kreinik slows me down a little.

Dragonfly

I have been very lazy latelly when it comes to stitching. I decided to pull myself together this weekend and work on the dragonfly I started like a month ago. It´s the second in the Garden Party Series. Last night I was determined not  to stop until I was finished since there was so little left.  And I dit it!

Ladybug

I just got the Garden Party series last week and couldn´t resist to start on the ladybug. Needless to say I couldn´t put it down and here is the finished result.

Hearts, wing and sheeps

I want to show you the progress of my HAED Romeo and Juliet. I´m almost done with 2 pages and this is getting more and more fun to stitch even though it´s going very slowly. As you can see the hearts are done and Romeo´s wing is coming along great. Can´t wait to start on his head.

I have also been stitching Counting House by Little House Needlework. I´m more than half way done so I should be able to show you a finished piece soon. I translated one..two to Icelandic ein..tvær. Please notice the little owl in the tree. I think she is so cute.

Happy dance and more

I finished my Needlework Shop last night. I decided to finish it before starting on something else since I had so little left. I´m really happy with how it turned out.

I have been working on The Peacock Stitching Chair by The Cat Whiskers. The plan was to finish it last week and put it together last weekend at Linda´s house. She was holding a finishing camp at her house where the ladies in our stitching group Allt í Kross could come over and get some help making something out of stitched things. Unfortunatelly I wasn´t able to finish all the parts and the chair is still not ready. I´m not ready to put it away though and will try to work on it this weekend. Here are the parts I´ve already done.

The last picture is of my progress of Romeo and Juliet by HAED. I haven´t been stitching it a lot lately but over 6000 stitches are already done.

Weekend away

This weekend I left the city with few other stitching mad ladies from my stitching club. We went to a cabin in Húsafell where we had a lot of fun, ate good food, laughed a lot and did a lot of stitching.

I had already started Romeo and Juliet by HAED and this is where I was at the beginning of the weekend.

I also did some stitching on The Needlwork Shop by CCN. Here you can see me working on it.

Snow Fence

I wanted to stitch something that wouldn´t take too much time. I browsed through my stash and finally decided on Snow Fence by Raise the Roof Design. It took me several evenings to complete but here it is without buttons.

Snowman Trio – Chilly

Ég komst loksins aftur í saumagírinn um jólin og kláraði síðasta snjókarlinn af 3 í Snowman Trio. Það er hann Chilly og hann er eiginlega mitt uppáhald.

I finally managed to finish the 3rd snowman Chilly in the Snowman Trio. He is kind of my favorite and that´s why I saved him for last.

Hér er svo mynd af þeim öllum saman. Ég er búin að setja allar tölur á þá og á bara eftir að ganga endanlega frá þeim.  Ég stefni á að drífa í því strax eftir áramót. Mig hlakkar mikið til að sjá þá alveg tilbúna.

O´holy night update

Ætla bara að skella hér inn mynd af stöðunni af O´holy night. Ég er ekki búin að vera neitt sérstaklega dugleg en þetta mjakast hægt og rólega. Verður pottþétt tilbúið fyrir næstu jól.

O´holy night dagatal

Ég er búin að sitja marga tíma undanfarið við þetta dagatal. Ég var að vonast til að klára það fyrir 1.des en eins og tíminn virðist fljúga áfram þá er það orðið nokkuð vonlaust. Ég var að klára alla krossana og á nú eftir allan afturstinginn og borðann utan um myndina. Og svo auðvitað allar litlu myndirnar sem á að hengja á það. En ég get gert þær jafn óðum í desember. En hér er mynd.

I´ve been working very hard on this Christmas calendar. I was hoping to finish this before December 1st but I´m kind of runnig out of time. I now got all the backstitching left and the border plus all the little pieces to hang on it. Well we´ll see.

Karmen litla hvolpastelpa

Í gær bættist í fjölskylduna lítil hvolpastelpa sem er fædd 28. ágúst. Hún er búin að fá nafnið Karmen.

Hún er ofsalega sæt og dugleg lítil stelpa. Það er mikill leikur í henni og hún og Tumi eru voðalega hrifin hvort af öðru.

Ég er ekki búin að vera að sauma mikið undanfarið. Maggi lenti inn á spítala með streptókokkasýkingu í hné sem getur verið lífshættuleg. Hann lá inni í rúma viku og fær núna heimahjúkrun. Hann þarf að fá lyf 4 sinnum á sólarhring og má ekki stíga í fótinn fyrr en fyrsta lagi 10. nóv. Hann fer um allt á hækjum en leiðist að hanga heima endalaust. Ég bauð honum að lána honum eitthvað að sauma og skil ekkert í af hverju hann þáði það ekki. 

Ég byrjaði á dagatali frá Dimension O´Holy Night. Það gengur frekar hægt og það er frekar ólíklegt að ég nái að klára fyrir jól. En hér er mynd af því sem komið er.

Home is where the heart is

Ég er búin að vera að dunda mér við þessa litlu mynd í nokkra daga. Ég heillaðist af henni þegar ég sá hana á blogginu hjá Eddu þar sem hún var kláruð sem nálarrúlla og er búin að vera á leiðinni að sauma hana síðan. Ég var ekki alveg viss hvað ég ætlaði að gera úr henni en endaði á að gera pinkeep þar sem að ég átti efni í bakhliðina sem passaði fullkomlega við munstrið.

I´ve been meaning to stitch this design for a while and finally got around to it. I wasn´t sure what to make of it but ended up making a pinkeep since I had the perfect fabric for the backside. I´m very happy with how it turned out.

Snowman Trio – Willy og afmæli

Ég kláraði loksins Willy fyrir helgina og er byrjuð á síðasta snjókarlinum. Ég er búin að panta tölurnar fyrir þá en ætla ekki að festa þær fyrr en þeir verða allir tilbúnir. Stefni á að klára þá fyrir jólin.

I just finished Willy the second one in the Snowman Trio serie. I already bought the buttons but thought I would not put them on until all three of them are finished.

Marín átti 8 ára afmæli 19. september. Hún fékk göt í eyrun í afmælisgjöf og það hefur gengið rosalega vel. Engin sýking eða neitt vesen. Hún hélt upp á vinkonuafmælið sitt í Stjörnustelpum og fékk rosa fína hárgreiðslu. Allar stelpurnar fengu hárgreiðslu og klæddust Hawaii búningum og svo dönsuðu þær og skemmtu sér vel.

QHG – Búin með 6 hluta

Ég var að klára 6. hlutann af Quilted Hearts Garden. Þessi mynd heldur mér algjörlega við efnið. Ég var ekki búin að snerta hana í 3 vikur á meðan ég var úti og var pínu farin að sakna þess að sauma í hana. Ég þarf líka að halda vel áfram ef ég ætla að ná Sissú og Guðbjörgu hmmm….

Now I´ve just finished 6 blocks. I absolutely love stitching this design. I seem to have more passion for large projects rather than small ones. Don´t know why!

Little House Neighbourhood

Við komum heim frá Florída síðasta föstudag.  Við lentum í Hitabeltisstorminum Fay síðustu dagana þannig að það ringdi mjög mikið og það var smá vindur. Ekki mikill samt í okkar augum en við sáum í búðunum að fólk var að byrgja sig upp af vatni og mat eins og það myndi lokast inni í viku eða svo. Eina sem við keyptum var kók og snakk og þá vorum við góð. Við skelltum okkur svo bara í sund í rigningunni og fórum að versla og það var bara fínt.

Strax og við komum heim á föstudaginn þá skellti ég mér í sumarbústað í Húsafelli með 5 góðum saumakonum. Ég byrjaði á Little House Neighbourhood úti og ákvað að halda áfram með það í bústaðnum. Ég átti eftir að velja handlitað garn í húsin og stelpurnar hjálpuðu mér að velja það. Það tók pínu langan tíma því ég var með svo mikinn valkvíða. Held ég hafi rakið fyrsta húsið upp 2svar áður en ég varð ánægð. En hér er mynd af fyrsta húsinu.

Það er mjög gaman að sauma þetta stykki. Erfitt að standa upp þegar maður byrjar. En nú er ég að spá í að sauma aðeins í Quilted Heart Garden. Sissú er komin langt á undan og það gengur sko ekki.
